Claude Monet- Cliff walk

Claude Monet- Cliff walk

Title: Cliff walk at Pourville
Artist: Claude Monet
Year: 1882
Style: Impressionism

This is a painting from Claude Monet, who is an impressionistic artist. His style of painting is impressionism art. He was a famous figure of impressionism movement. Cliff walk is one of his well-known works, which I like it the best.

In the painting, every stroke is so soft and gentle. they comprise a blur effect of the whole outcome. It gives people a kind of feeling that can not describe the picture exactly. What subjects we can assume from the painting are two female shadows standing on the cliff edge. The background is composed by the blue sky with few crowd of clouds and roaring waves, there are few boats floating in the sea as well.

It does not have any real lines. But the composition of the painting is horizontal, It creates a peaceful mood strongly with its impressionism style painting technique.

It also emphasizes the feature of impressionism painting, an oil painting resembles to a photograph but not a real photo.

This is a picture taken by Jimmy. The main subject is the branch of leves, but focal point is on the background which is the sky and further landscape.

Even though the leaves are blurry, texture of the leaves are distinctive, because it is under the light of sunshine. meanwhile, the yellow color of the leave contrasts to the green color of the trees strongly. The foreground subject which is the decaied leaves creates an autumn mood. In contrast, the ever green tree shows the positive energy such as in spring and summer. The combination of subjects expresses an energetic atmosphere in winter.
